I just finished making a batch of gumpaste. How long is it good for?

Also, what do you use to glue pieces together? I've heard of sugar glue, however I am not familiar with what that is. Does that have to be used or can you use something else.

Thanks!

good for a LONG time -- I have some that is almost a year old.

KEY: keep it well sealed in as airtight a container as possible.

Glue: take small piece of the gumpaste and add water until it becomes "glue" consistency

I'm doing a class right now and we are using egg whites as the 'glue'. The liquid egg whites that you can buy in a container at the store are perfect for this!

gumpaste keep well in a freezer. Cut it in smaller pieces, wrap well in clingwrap. I have mine in the freezer for 2 years now. As good as new.

For the glue I use gum, used for the gumpaste, diluted with water. Also keep for ever.
