Making "water" On A Cake

I am making a beach inspired cake which will have water flowing throw it. How do I make water (I don't really want to use blue colored buttercream)???

you could use piping gel.. RI.. maybe some others will throw in their idea..good luck

I suggest piping gel also. Use very little coloring because I have found that it doesn't take much to color that stuff. jana C*

I also suggest piping gel...if you want an extra shimmery look, Wilton has a new sparkle gel available.

I did a beach themed cake about a month ago. I iced the cake with light blue BC then put piping gel that was tinted blue over it. Every one loved the cake.

Piping gel is the way to go! icon_wink.gif But definitely watch how much color you add. A tiny bit goes a long way with piping gel. Test it out as you color. thumbs_up.gif

I remember a tip sometime ago where someone suggested that you melt gummies, if you could find all blue that is...could make your own gummies as well. I have never tried it, but I would imagine it would give a very nice shiny 3d look of water.
