Did anyone use a pre-made web template/host similar to Homestead to build their website? If yes, what was your experience with it? I am on a very limited budget and although I'd like to have a web-presence by year's end, I want to be sure that the site I choose offers me everything I'll need. What are the drawbacks or advantages to use this type of web-builder? Would anyone care to share sites that they've constructed themselves? What features should I look for? What should I be wary of? Are there additional 'hidden' charges?

There are several long threads about websites and templates.

If you use the search button, search website and limit the search to titles only and select the cake decorating business forum You will find them.

I used godaddy and couldn't ever figure it out. No information they gave me over the phone was helpful to me either. Not that they are a bad company, I just have little computer knowledge....

Now, I use homestead. SO easy to use!! Very competent customer service. Just my experience....

I use www.1and1.com and I am just thrilled w/ them and their customer service. Very helpfull and it's pretty easy to use too. I like that while I do not have to know any HTML at all, it still gives me a level of customization that other sites didn't. For instance the "theme" of the site. I was able to choose a pre made design but load my own header that I made in photoshop. My site isn't really public ready yet (I need to get my pictures edited and added) but it's www.papercakes.net if you want to check it ou.

I also LOVE the form builder they have. I think it makes things look more professional and they were really easy to create.
