I have a question about the Luster Dust being edible a local distrubutor's website says that it is not intended for consumption. Does anyone have any information on this? I will provide a link to their webpage. Thanks in advance.

Even though it states it is not intended for consumption, I think the amount used poses a VERY slight risk to people, There could be a problem with children, the elderly or the infirm injesting it. For the most part, I think it's fine.
Luster dust is not edible. It's non toxic, just like play-dough, but you wouldn't want your kids consuming too much of that.
There's definitely a difference between non toxic and edible. I thought they were the same until I went to buy luster dust and was schooled on it. Edible means it is FDA approved for consumption. Non toxic means it won't kill you if you eat a little, but it is not meant to be eaten.
You can buy edible luster dust but it's very expensive.
HTH,
Alex
would anyone know where to buy the edible luster dust?
I believe Wilton's new Pearl Dust is FDA approved. It only comes in 6 colors though.
It might be helpful to read the link on the top of the cake decorating forum. I read it and it seems that it may be okay; many people use it on most of their cakes.
Here's the link for that thread.
