Okay so I have yet to do the cake mix extender and want to try it on a cake I am doing for this weekend! So I see there are a couple of different recipes on CC which extender do you use??? I will be doing a white, yellow and strawberry cake, do it's matter or does the recipe change with flavors?

You will get a wide variety of answers and differing opinions on this one........I personally like the Enhanced Cake Formula here:

I have used it with a variety of flavors and brands.......but my personal favorite is PB. There's my 2 cents. thumbs_up.gif

I use the regular cake mix extender from here and I love it. Gives the cake a nice texture and I like to make my layers tall so this really helps me get the most out of cake mixes, when I use them. I have even used it on some scratch cakes and it didn't seem to mess with cake too much.

I have used it on several different flavors without problems

I like WASC. It makes for a very moist and yummy cake.

I like to add a small box of instant pudding in a complementary flavor, double the recommended amount of oil and add an extra egg to what the box calls for. I'm not sure what the official name of this extender is. I like it because it's easy and the only additional ingredient to keep on hand is pudding. I don't want to deal with adding flour, sour cream, etc. I also substitute coffee creamer for part of the water sometimes. Hope this helps!

I use the regular "Cake Extender" recipe here on CC and it has worked great. It just compliments the flavor mix you use so it can go with anything.

Well I used the cake extender recipe from CC with all three flavors and they were all great!! I ecspecially liked how the white cake turned out, I am not a big fan of white cake but wow was that good! I had enough batter to make an extra 6inch of each so we could taste! Thanks everyone for the help and I will have to try the other suggestions sometime soon too!
