If I use a plastic tablecloth do I still have to put contact paper over that?

Thanks,

If the cake is on a board, and then on the tablecloth, it should be fine. Without the base board, the knife can tear through the tablecloth.

JoAnnB,

Thank you for your thought. I wasn't thinking about the possibility of cutting the tablecloth, so thank you for your insight.

I decided I would cover the cakeboard in contact paper so I could use it again. The cake will be going to church, so it won't be a problem for me to get the cake board back.

I am making another (my 3rd) cheeseburger tomorrow for the youth at church. I bought the checkered tablecloth to make a nice background for the cheeseburger.
