Maybe this question has been answered already and i just haven't found it but here goes anyway.

i know things are pretty touchy about selling things from wilton cake pans. is this just the character pans? how about the sports ball pan? can i draw an elmo on a cake? molded candy melts? could i sell a cute couple of dozen cupcakes with sesame street baking cups?

i know if in doubt don't do it. i get lots of requests for this type of thing. i did read somewhere that the decorator would have a customer bring in a toy to put on the cake and create a background type of cake. that's ok though right?

I'm a rookie in need of help please! icon_smile.gif

I don't think you're allowed to make any images of copyrighted characters at all unless it's purely for personal, no sale, use. I'm sure someone else knows more so this post will also be a bit of a bump.

The general rule is you cannot duplicate, or attempt to duplicate the charcter in any form. that would include shaped cakes, figures, transfers etc. You could certainly add a toy that was provided by the customer. The sports ball, teddy bear, duck etc are not 'licensed characters' so you can use and sell the cakes from those pans.
