How bou Monkey's Eyebrow?? That's near Butler county---Sundine2-I live in Hikes Point-between Taylorsville road (Pauls Fruit Market) and Hikes Lane! Yes, you will "miss" the Art Fair if you can't get to it-it's such an eventful time! I have family outside Indianapolis-tell work you have to visit your "nanni" in Louisville the day of the fair-they don't have to know its me!! I have been to Conways several times, and at one time I belonged to ICES but didn't get the calls about the get togethers until the night before etc....so I wound up not renewing.

Nanni,

I know where you live now....
We missed St. Joes picnic too . We lived just one street over from St. Joes when we lived in Louisville.

When did you belong to ICES? I was there for probably several years. I went to Convention when it was in Nashville. I think that was my first or 2nd year in ICES.

I was in ICES in 2004-yeah, St Joes picnic was just a couple weeks ago-I worked the St Pius picnic-my 6 year old (actually granddaughter but I am raising her with DH) goes to St Pius-which is now John-Paul II Academy-St Barnabas and St Bartholomew and St Pius all grouped together to make one school-anyway, if you get a chance to come to the little cake party please feel free-you pretty much know where I am-stop by anytime!! I am hoping to have an instructor here for "tips" etc.

It will probably be next month-you are more than welcome to come-we will be having a roundtable (actually a rectangle table cuz that's what I have) but it will be fun to meet people and learn from each other etc!

Well I'm gonna have to read through this later but I thought I'd go ahead and add myself!!

HI!!! I'm in Louisville icon_smile.gif I live in Middletown in Louisville if that helps anyone - although I bake in Prospect b/c I bake at my parents' house.... they have a MUCH bigger kitchen & some storage room for my stuff! (not a lot but it's better than trying to cram it into my tiny house!).

I can't wait to read the rest of this and see where the rest of you are!

BTW, where do you all get your supplies from in KY? Are there any good stores around KY or do you order most of your stuff online? Conway's is near me..... what about the rest of you?

Wow, I know I am at the bottom of the totem pole for getting on this one so late, but I am a Kentuckian too! (Mercer Co. about 30 minutes of Lexington) I did not realize there were so many until this thread came along--good one by the way!

My name is Robin and I am 26. I have been married to an unbelievable supportive husband for 8 years! He works so hard to let me stay at home to be with our daughter McKinley Brooke, who is 3 and is my avatar picture! We had gotten pregnant before and lost the baby at 12 weeks, so when I got pg with McKinley we decided it was best to stay home. Now that we are trying for another baby (had another miscarriage after her when she was one) and McKinley will be going to school next year I wanted to pick up a hobby for "me" time and "me" money too!!! I am not the best at any of it , but it is so much fun except for the clean up afterward!! We are thinking of building another house so we can put another kitchen in the basement so I can legally do it! My husband acts very excited about it too. So hello Kentucky bakers!!!

IMartsy....Sugarcraft in Cincy is not that far away from you and they have tons of supplies. Its a nice drive and Jungle Jims is not that far away either and boy is that a fun grocery store. It is 6 acres of food. The wine dept alone is about an acre I think.

Anyone else been there?

love their cinnamon bread. It makes the best french toast if you use half and half instead of milk. .....boy that won't help me lose weight... icon_lol.gif

I live in Kentucky also, a little town called Hardinsburg. I am not a decorator yet but I bake cakes like Hummingbird, creme and such. Havent taken any classes either so I am such a newbie. You all are experts compared to me. I would love to meet bakers from Kentucky also. Actually posted a need to find someone close either from Louisville or Owensboro that would bake a birthday cake for my daughters 10th birthday party. (sniffle) can someone help a fellow kentuckian??? Pweeeeese. I also have 3 kids 1 13 year old boy, 4 year old girl, and a 9 year old girl. Happily married for almost 11 years. My husband works all the time and would love to find a fellow baker that might could show me the ropes. Nanni can I meet also with you all. I used to live in Prospect kentucky in the subdivision Countryside. If anyone can help me with the baking of the birthday cake please tell me. Thanks fourangelsmommie for showing me this site icon_smile.gif.
And big hugs to all the wonderful bakers!!!!
Christi

O.K. Did anyone meet at Nannie's this week-end ?

Just wondering if it was as awesome as it sounded like it would be.

I was wanting to go, but with 3 kids and a husband that is a truck driver, I never get to go anywhere. icon_cry.gif

So, I though I would check and see how it went and everyone can tell me, to help fill in my boring life. icon_lol.gif

Nanni pm'd me and said that the date had been changed to the 28th, not the 21st and just a handful of people were coming now. I think she said that they had decided to go shopping for cake supplies, etc. instead of having a 'class' of sharing together.

So, if anyone still wants to go, better pm Nanni very soon and let her know you are still interested.

She will have to let us know how their shopping endeavors went. icon_razz.gif

Have a great time!
