I was just wondering if any one else has any other hobies other than cake. Mine is scrapbooking & cross stiching mainly scrapbooking though I love it.
No, but I'd love to learn to paint. I was thinking of taking the Donna Dewberry class at Michael's. I'd like to learn how to paint flowers on fondant. I've never tried scrapbooking. All of my pics are digital -except for the older ones. Guess I could start with some pics of me -I'd call it..Bad Hair Years ![]()
I work out and do crafts with my kids.
I have one craft that I'm working on that I think I will never finish. I am saving all of the kids old clothes that they love so I can make quilts for them. It's a work in progress, I'm still saving each kids clothes in a different bin so I can chop them up and sew them together--plan on adding a fleece backing, then they can take it to college and wherever else with them. Plan on doing one with jeans too but making a star shape. Like I said, I may never be done!
I love to make afgans. There is a camp nearby that gives each kid an afgan to take home at the end of the week. Very basic, but just doing my part!
I do photo editing and restorations and digital scrapbooking here is one of favorites w/ me and my dds .
Plus I also like to work with polymer clay. I use some of the same techniques from cake decorating for that,
I'm new here. ![]()
I got into Cake Decorating back in the 80's. My bestest friend ever took the time to teach me and let me use her stuff. I am wanting to get back into it again.
Here are the cakes I made back then:

Here is more about me if anyone is interested.
I'm 51 and have been married 33 years to my high school sweetheart that I met when I was 14. I was a stay at home Mom and loved it. We have two sons and they were a breeze to raise and are great guys. I have a wonderful daughter in law and a great soon to be daughter in law too. My grandson is 4 and is the light of my life. I started working very part time when the youngest was 15. I only worked 4 hours a month. I now still work part time and it ends up being only a total of a few months a year. LOL! I like it that way. I love emailing, yahoo groups and internet searching.
I have tons of hobbies now that the boys have moved out. Back when they were little I dabbled in macramé, cake decorating, and weaving pillow tops. Now I'm into quilting, purse making, machine embroidery, hand and machine knitting. My husband bought a Harley in June of 2006 and we have over 10,600 miles on it. We absolutely love it.
All of my photos are here:
