I learned today that kids are wanting Cake Snack Bars instead of cakes for their birthdays. What the heck are Cake Snack Bars?

I would like to know what they are too. It sounds like they might be little personal cakes or something like that.

Would it be like you supply little cakes or cupcakes and have icicng or decorations for each child to do there own cake??? We are going to this for my soon to be 8 yr old DD party. I don't know if that is what you are talking about. She is really excited and tells anyone who will listen what we are doing for her B-Day. And it isn't till Oct. But we came up with the idea when I started cake classes. And we decorated a cake or two together. I hope to here if this is what you are talking about cause that would be something I could offer to customers. My daughter will be inviting about 8 girls and I am sure a few of them would want a party like this. icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif Just maybe will help get my name out there Kay

Hey I just got in on Emeril doing a show with a Harlem school. And at the end he had a brownie bar. Guess what they had premade brownies with all the fixins ice cream, choc. syrup , nuts, and what ever else they may want to put on there own brownie. I bet that is what this cake bar is all about. Great Idea!!!!! Kids love to be involved and creative. Hope to hear more on this soon. Kay icon_smile.gif

I'm not positive about this, but I think I have a pretty good idea. I think, like what kaychristensen said, you supply little un-iced, un-decorated cakes for each person and then have a whole bunch of icings and decorations and each kid decorates however they want. I think Cake "bar" refers, not to bar as in chocolate bar, but as in buffet bar, where you pick what you want. That's just my thought. Don't quote me on this.

Oh, Duh! I was thinking some sort of cake bar like a candy bar! That makes so much more sense that it would be a do it yourself thing for the kids.
