I really would like to try airbrushing. I have found the gun at walmart...but no air compressor. Now I have seen the can of compressed air. Has anyone used those? What size air compressor would I need if I went the traditional way?

Thank you!!!!!

You should ask Doug. He knows a lot about the subject. The airbrush I have has a 20 watt compressor attached.

I have also been interested in an airbrush set. My question is, can it be any airbrush set? say from a "hobby store" verses getting one from kopycake? Or is there even a difference?

Thought I'd throw my $.02 in.

I looked for a bargain on an airbursh for quite some time. I finally decided to just get the kopykake airmaster.

Now that I've been decorating for quite a few years, I've learn alot. First lesson, having the right tools makes the stress level DROP! Sometimes it's just better to "bite the bullet" and buy the right stuff. Ofcourse cost can be the issue so you need to determine if it's something you would use enough to recoup to cost. Or save up the money and buy it then.

I, too, wanted to get an airbrush set, but I'm as poor as Job's turkey. So I bought the can of compressed air, and then bought a $25 airbrush at Michaels. Worked great with the KopyKat airbrush colors I bought on-line!

However, all I have done with my "airbrush set" so far is to color large areas of cake. I have not tried to do any detail work or anything yet, so I don't know if the can of compressed air will affect that or not. I do know that with the airbrush I bought at Michael's you can control the air pressure out of the can, so maybe that will help with the detail work? HTH!
