icon_cry.gif Hi CC. I did my babyshower cake my first cake atlast on saturday for a friend of a friend shower.....

It looked pretty and i did a pair of booties as a topper. It was a YASC Cake with strawberry filling and almond buttercream. Here goes: My 2 year old has Asthma and was hospitalized since the friday so i left my DH at the hospital and ran home to the cake and cie and stuff caue i didn't want to dissapoint the mom to be. I got the cake completed and left my neice home while i went back to the hospital that's the saturday.

Unfortunately the father of the unborn baby came by the house to pick the cake up and my neice gave it to him. I never got a picture icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

I called them to let them know I needed a picture but got no answer. well I really couldn't be bothered from then cause my baby was too ill to worry about a cake pic.. Anyway I got a call from them yesterday and they called to say the cake was FABULOUS that's the word they used. lol and everybody been coming back for 2nd and 3rd serving.

anyway my photo gallery is still empty and i feel like a loner... My son is out of hospital and he's doing fine and i still have a lot to thank God for anyway.... His health is more important than a cake pic...

Just needed to share.

So glad to hear your son is okay...I'm sure that was a scary time for you. No wonder you forgot to take a pic! Would you believe there are STILL times I forget to take a pic and have to call the clients and ask for one?! icon_surprised.gif

Don't worry...sounds like you will have many more opportunities to take pics of your cakes in the future with all the raves you got!! thumbs_up.gif

I am glad your son is home and doing well. I am now on grandchildren but it is still scary when a little one gets sick.

I am new but do try to get a picture of every cake I make even though they are just practice cakes and either eaten at home or some I take to my office.

Maybe one day you can make one even if just for fun and get a picture that way.

It is great that your son is home and doing better. It probably won't be the first cake that doesn't get a photo. I could have been worse, like it got dropped or something.

first of all, glad that your son is fine-- i can't imagine how scary that would be. that's the important thing!! but i know what you mean, i can be obsessive about taking a picture of every cake-- i think because i'm still pretty new to this. but most likely you'll only be sad about it until your next cake--which i'm sure you'll get a picture of-- :O) --

by the way, maybe they took a picture of your cake anyway-- someone at the party probably did for scrapbook or something-- its worth asking (if you didn't already!) --

diamondsmom, I am so happy that your son is home and doing well. That is the most important thing. I am sure they took a picture and you will get a copy of it. I am keeping my fingures crossed for you. Call them again and ask.
