Created, stacked, transported, delivered and set up my first tiered cake! And the only thing that went wrong was when I put the honey pot on the top I knocked the bottom of the U off. But I had my icing with me so had it fixed in a flash. The mom to be loved it! As she walked into the room she yelled, "Look at that cake!"
Patterened it off the cake in the Wilton Tiered Cakes book called "Teddy's Ready to Play" on page 99.
Didn't have the Winnie the Pooh pan, so used the stand up bear pan and added icing to his cheeks and nose to look more like pooh.
Cake is yellow with buttercream icing. Was going to use some fondant, but chickened out at the last minute.....maybe next time!
That is a really cute cake!!! I love the way it looks like the honey is dripping from the top cake. Great job!!
The honey dripping of the top cake is a very cool idea you did a good job and who wouldn't want that kind of reaction from MOM. I say you have a very happy Mom out there
Woo hoo! What an excellent job for your first try! I'm impressed! ![]()
I'm so happy for you! I'm delivering my first stacked cake today to a bridal shower and I'm sweating bullets because not only is it stacked and I have no one to help hold it in the car, but this cake is covered in chocolate with chocolate dipped strawberries done like bride and grooms (bride didn't want foo foo but loves chocolate!) and I have to drive it a good 30 minutes away! I just know its going to melt all over! Wish me luck guys!

That is soooo adorable! I want one and I don;t even like Pooh!
Great job!!
Fabulous job! You should be very proud of yourself! ![]()
ckkerber,
It's all done with bc. I used tip 12 (?) and just squeezed a small circle then dragged toward the center of the flower to create the petal. Creates a fatter flower than using the rose (104) tip like they taught us to make daisies with in the Wilton class.
Now you get out there and find an excuse to make a tiered cake!!
If I can do one you can too! I was nervous about doing this one, but it really turned out to be pretty easy (alhough transporting it in the car all by myself was a bit scary!).
I found a set of mini round pans on eBay. They're 2", 3", 4" and 5". Was thinking about getting them so I could do mini stacked cakes both for practice and because you don't ever see them! Wouldn't that make a fun girl's birthday cake?
Absolutely adorable cake!!!!! I bet you were so thrilled when mom said that! what a great compliment!!!
It's beautiful!! I love Winnie the Pooh... You did such a great job!
Why do we have two identical forums on this?
Diane
This cake is sooooo cute. How do you do the cloud border? I want to try it, but I don't know where to start.
really adorable!!! I just bought this pan and this is a great variation to remember. I love the honey and the cloud detail!!! ![]()
