My Very First Cake...no Laughing Please!

Well, even though I swore I wouldn't try my hand at cake decorating until I started my Wilton I class in mid-Sept., I decided to bite the bullet and try anyway. Decorating this cake was better than therapy! I have officially found a new addiction!

Anyway, the cake is a sour cream yellow with chocolate fudge icing and buttercream flowers and border. I know it isn't great, but at least now I have a feel for what I'll be doing. Reading a book can only take you so far!!!

Great job! I know what you mean about not being able to wait for your class to start. A new Michael's just opened near me on Thursday and I rushed down there yesterday hoping to sign up for my Wilton class. They said they were "a work in progress" and didn't have their classes together yet. icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif Guess you can imagine the disappointment.

I can't wait to see your cakes after your class. You're already ahead of the learning curve!! thumbs_up.gif
