I posted this in another forum by mistake, so I'll try it here now...

My sister has a friend who is getting married and they are hosting a wedding shower. The theme of the shower is picnic. They are having it outdoors and putting checked tablecloths on the tables, centerpieces are glass faygo pop bottles with flowers and/or pinwheels in them...all very cute and very fun. They are trying to come up with cute favor ideas. They want to be able to put the favors in the little brown paper lunch sacks, which is cute with the theme. Anyways, I offered to make up some decorated cookies to place in the favor bags (either flowers or watermelon slices) but they want more things as well. I was thinking maybe print up some good bbq recipes on cute cards and bundle them together with checkered ribbon? Any thoughts on that? And any ideas of your own? TIA. Jodie

I guess it would depend on the size of the bags.... those little cupcake hamburgers would be adorable, but ALOT of work...

The Dollar Tree sells packages of gummy hotdogs and marshmallow hamburgers. Or maybe little candles for a more grown up feel. I've seen little ones shaped like apple pies at Walmart.

We did something similar but used sand buckets. It was an adult party so the guys each got a bottle of beer and each girl got a wine cooler then we added a bunch of other stuff.

Little bottles of bug spray or those "itch sticks" for bug bites, sunscreen wipes, sunglasses, chapstick with spf, those little boxes of poppers kids like to throw on the 4th of July.....

Wal-mart and dollar stores have cute little ice cream dishes, fun summer ice cube molds, flip-flop notepads.

Hope that helps! Also, I have watermelon slices in my photos and I just did flip flop cookies I need to post.

How about cupcakes in little flower pots with a ribbon around the pot to match the table cloth. Then, they don't even need the paper bag, they can just take their little pot home with them. I have mine in the gallery. You can make the flowers on top of the cupcakes all different colors. The cupcake fits really well in the small pots they sell at Micahels ... and they are very inexpensive. Just an idea.

Thanks for all the ideas...they are great. I've compiled a list and am handing it off to my sister to share with her fellow party planners. It sounds so cute...can't wait to see what they decide!!
