Hi Everyone!!
I just had to tell!! DH, the kids and I went on vacation this last week (just got back last night). We went to KY and then up through Ohio. DH wanted to stop in Cincinnati and take a tour of the baseball stadium. I agreed on one condition, we had to go to Hamilton (30 miles north) to Sugarcraft. icon_lol.gif
But, it was a little hard to find. By the time we found it I only had 20 minutes before they closed. icon_mad.gif For those of you who have not been there, WOW!!!! This place was wall-to-wall cake decorating!!! I was in HEAVEN!!!! I used my time wisely and got the essentials for the upcoming wedding I'm catering. The people were very nice and I could have spent a whole day in that store. I know if I need to order online, that is probably were I will order from now on. thumbs_up.gif
I got by 16" round pan, 16",12",10",8" seperator plates, super pearl dust, luster dust, and a deer hunter kit that had a deer hunter, deer, and trees in this kit. All for $52.00.
I just had to tell everyone!! I was so excited. Thanks to all those who recommended www.sugarcraft.com or I would have never gotten to go!!!

Thanks again icon_lol.gif ,

Missy

Oh I'm so jealous!! We're going to Cedar Point in August, but Sugarcraft is still 4 hours away, so I think I'd have a hard time convincing my bf to more driving after going 7 hours!

I hate to tell you this now that you're home, but you passed the best cake supply store in ohio on your way to SC. About 10 minutes from the ballpark, just off I-75, you will find Cincinnati Cake And Candy Supply, with a larger inventory and kinder staff. Oh well, just some info for your next trip to the queen city

I love sugarcraft's online store. I wish I could visit there store. Maybe when I'm up north I'll make it my business to stop in. I would probably spend all of my vacation money in that store. icon_smile.gif

Gateau-beau - Funny, I just received my first online order from Cincinnati Cakes and even though I line in NJ, I got it in 2 days and they even put a couple of freebies (sprinkles, cookie cutter and recipe) in with my order which I thought was great. I am definitely ordering from them again!

I have to agree. I live less than a mile from cincinnati cake and candy supply but i still make the 30 minute trip to sugracraft. they have tons more! don't get me wrong, i like cincinati cake and candy supply too, they're really nice there, but they just don't have a fraction as much as sugarcraft has.

I shop both, I live around the corner from Cin. Cake and I go once a month up to Sugarcraft. I think both have there pros and cons but I love shopping at both. Also in Kentucky, Fantasy in Frosting is great as well.

I've had horrible experiences with Sugarcraft, and know quite a few other friends that have had a bad time with them as well. They are rude when they mess up, they refuse to apologize and don't even want to try to fix what they messed up on. Horrible customer service with that place!

Country Kitchens is awesome, and their customer service rocks! I've never tried the Cake and Candy one posted, I'll have to check that one out!

If it is the good Lords will, I hope to be going to my grandson's 2nd. birthday party next month in Mason, Ohio....my daugther in law has been to both places Sugarcraft & Cinny Cake & Candy.

She told me her and her mother can't wait to see me when they take me to them, because they know I'll go crazy like a kid in a toy store icon_biggrin.gif . They are right I will icon_lol.gif .

If I don't get to go to those places, thats o.k., I'll still be in heaven just getting to see my grandson & my 6 month old grand daughter

tthardy78, where is Fantasy N Frosting at in Kentucky?

I hasd a sugarcraft problem too...they're always rude when I take my kids in with me. The kids are good and never touch anything, but the lady just didn't like them in there. I still go there, but I don't take my kids with me, so they're nice.

I've taken my kids to Sugarcraft with me many times. They have carts so they could ride if they are small. But since mine are older now, I tell them "touch with your eyes, not with your hands" and they mind me. In fact the girl at Sugarcraft complimented me on how nice my kids were last week. Everyone there has just been super to me.

I can understand that they don't want products moved around by sticky little hands. I wouldn't like that either.

Hummmmm - wonder how the hubby will feel about going to Ohio for vacation instead of the beach?!?! Do you think I could pull that one off?? Thanks for the website info on the Cincinnati Cake Store - I have a feeling I am going to be doing a little Internet shopping tonight. icon_biggrin.gifthumbs_up.gif

Sugarcraft has things you can't get anywhere else. But, I order from them only when I can't get the item anywhere else. And I look hard for another company.

Their shipping rates are outrageous. They are anywhere between $2-$4 higher than other sites for small orders.

I found a cookie cutter I wanted there but couldn't see paying $7.95 for shipping.

I forgot to mention that they also charge $1 handling fee. I don't see other sites doing that. And, their Customer svs. sucks.

I have to agree with gateaux_beau that Cincinnati Cake and Candy has nicer staff and a much nicer selection. I go in there and spend at least an hour everytime I need to buy cake supplies. I love looking at all the candy molds and all the new cake kits. And ohh my goodness the cookie cutters alone are just awesome, they have so many of them. And hey when I went in last week flowers were on sale, so if you need lots of flowery stuff nows the time to get it. Some of the flower molds are soo cute. I just thought I'd let you know about that too.

I also make a monthly trip to Sugarcraft! Although I have heard SOOOO much about rude service, I have never personally experienced it. I've also been to Cinci Cake & Candy. Wonderful store also with very nice staff, but they don't have near as much as Sugarcraft! I really enjoy both stores, and I guess it just depends on what you're looking for! Also, Sugarcraft does have TERRIBLE shipping rates, so I'm lucky I'm close!

I had no idea that Country Kitchens was in Fort Wayne....I just passed right through there 2 months ago when going to Kalamazoo, MI! UGH! Maybe next time!

Yes, I would LOVE To know where Fantasy in Frosting is in KY! My Mom lives there, so I'm down there often!

I got to go see my grandbabies party.gificon_biggrin.gifthumbs_up.gif . The party was great! I also got to go to sugarcraft....I was so overcome with all the stuff they had that I couldn't remember everything that I wanted to get, but I still was able to get a lot of things. I did learn that somethings that is on their web site may not be in the store, because they have to be special order.I also learn if I ever get to go again, I'll make a list.

The best part of my trip was being Bless by God to be with my grandbabies icon_biggrin.gif .

God Bless,
Sharon
