I have read through the forums on different BC topics but I'm not really finding my answer.

The question is: I just made a batch of BC. The recipe is:

2 sticks butter (one salted one unsalted)
1-1/2 cups Crisco
3 tsp clear vanilla
1 tsp clear butter extract
2.25 lbs powdered sugar
3 Tbsp water
1 Tbsp corn syrup
1/16 tsp vinegar

The problem is that it looks like a million holes when I spread it on. This is the first time this has happened to me. Any suggestions on if this can be salvaged? I don't want to waste all these ingredients but don't want to have THAT on my cake either! I used a KA at lowest setting using the paddle.

Thanks!

try using a spatula to stir, pressing down on the mass. It may reduce the bubbles.

Thanks, JoAnnB. I tried that but I guess it needed more than that. I tried adding more stuff to it (as in powdered sugar, etc) and it still looks grainy (no salt put in it other than what was in the salted butter). I don't know what went wrong. ?
