How can I find how to do chocolate transfer butterflies? I have searched the forums and because I am technologically impaired - I can't find what I need. Please can some wise person point me the way??
I would get my 9 year old to do it since he handles all my computer questions - but he's in bed icon_smile.gif

Thanks in advance!

You basically do this the same way you would do run sugar or color flow techinique. Instead use chocolate.

Sorry if you read this post earlier I mentioned the wrong technique

if you can go to the library or bookstore and check out a book called whimsical bakehouse (liv hansen ? ) there are instructions in there. its a great book, great technique. its called chocolate transfer. they pipe over wax paper on top of a pattern. starting with dark chocolate for the outlines and veins with a small round tip and then fill in with colored chocolate. when the chocolate has set, you flip them over and place them on the cake smooth side up.

thanks so much for the help everyone!

I found your thread Merissa and it was just what I was looking for. Mine turned out ok, but not as pretty as yours. I had to do them last night (well at 2 am) for a cake due today. So I didn't have a lot of time to practice. I think I will try some more soon because I really liked the technique.

I am posting a pic of my finished cake now. icon_smile.gif
