If you are unable to get information on the stand, don't worry! The information is printed on the "Operating Instructions" sheet inside the box. And...if all else fails here the information I used to order mine:
"If you are interested in the optional arm and your local dealer(s) do not carry this item, please call us toll free at 1-800-235-2720 to purchase from us. We accept major credit card"
[My projector is a "Model# PJ768 PROJECTA SCOPE" - this information is just to be sure the model # you get is the same, and will fit the stand. I am not sure what/if any other models will work with this particular stand.]
OMG, I just got through telling daughter #2 that I got the coupon but didn't think I needed anything right now.....oh how foolish...well I do now.
See ya at HL..
hi guys,
sorry for my so dumb question, but i really dont have any idea on how to use the projector on decorating cake???pls enlighten my mind, thanks.
keep smiling
Mala
Simply put, you use a projector to reflect an image onto the surface of your cake. You then trace the design, with either icing or piping gel. You can then fill in the colors of your design with an airbrush, icing or piping gel. You can use any picture (this particular projector uses an image approximately 3x3"), and it is enlarged when it is reflected through the lens onto your cake.
The 2 cakes, on page 1 of this thread, are both 11x15" sheets, and the design used to project the image to that size were quite small. (One was actually a Valentine's card I saved from my child...just to give you a size reference.)
I bought the Projector at A.C. Moore. Can't wait to try it out.
Thanks again for posting the info.
There are several new and used on ebay right now. Just do a search for Kopykake. Thats how I got my kopykake machine. It was used.
Your cakes look amazing . . . did you paint the images with buttercream?
Sorry, just noticed this! No, they are not painted, they are airbrushed! A word of caution to anyone trying to fill in a design using an airbrush, though! Make sure you know your brush very well, and use a light touch. If the outline is not firmly in place the airbrush will blow your lines out of place, and it is very easy to get overspray in the wrong areas!
my kopykake projector is in storage and I didn't want to purchase another one so I got myself this one...from Michaels.
I too called the 800 number and got my "arm".
It's works like a dream. I though that because I didn't pay much for it that I would have to buy 'room darkener" curtains..lol, but no...it works fine! I love it.
Great of you to share..I forgot all about this..lol
i'm so glad i found this post! i saw this projector about a year ago. it was at a magazine, can't remember the name of the store. I
told my friend about so she can create a mural for her babies room. Just a few months ago i asked her if the projector was any good. cause of the low price.
I thought it would also be a good idea on cakes, after i saw the one from kopykakes. She said she would send it to me, but hasn't. I was wondering how the heck i would hold it up or w/what. I didn't know they sold the attachments to hold it up. now that i know it works, i'm definately going to get one. Im terrible w/drawing freehand and my writting is terrible too. I'm sure this will help. i've read projectors have been used for writing on cakes too. So thanks a lot for this post! i can't wait to try it.
Gotta check out Michaels and ACmoore to see if they have it. I don't have Hobby Lobby's up here in the northeast.
thanks!
Kat

I've used mine for drawing, but had never even thought about using it to write on the cakes!
I am actually very comfortable with my writing on cakes, but with all the creative fonts available now...the possibilities are endless!
Thanks for broadening my mind on another use! I wonder if you could use a grid (Like graph paper) to mark the servings? ...hmmmm, may have to try that! Wow, now my mind is really running with things I could do with it!!

Thanks everyone for sharing the Projecta Scope! I found one today at Michael's.
Quick question....has anyone used the projecter to project the image onto frosting sheets? This way, if you make a mistake, you can just start over. My only concern is would the bulb be to hot and melt the sheets?
Thanks again for all the tips ![]()
Ok, maybe this is silly, but, do the images have to be on transparencies or can you use any picture. The only projectors I have used have been the ones where you use transparency sheets?
If so, how do you make the transparencies?
New to this whole projector thing, but it sounds good! My handwriting stinks, so if I had something to help, it would be great! Also, so many more decorating possibilities!
Stephanie
I'm silly....for some reason I was thinking that the frosting sheets would be directly under the bulb...sorry, that wouldn't be the case so I guess it would work fine!

Not a silly question at all, there are many types of projectors out there!
This projector (as well as the KopyKake versions) uses any picture! The opening size for this particular model is 3x3".
(Of course the more detailed the picture, the more difficult it will be to draw!
)
