I just made petit fours and i know you use poured foundant t cover and it did that. i put 2 coats on and i could still see through them on the sides. does anyone have a good recipe to prevent or know a way to prevent that?

dip in confectionary coating ( the wilton wafers or the stuff in the store marked for almond bark will work) add a few tablespoons of crisco to keep it soft it is more opaque than poured fondant.

I just add some melted white chocolate or candy melts to the mixture. It helps make it more opaque.
