I made a practice cake today, just messing around. It is Killer Chocolate Cake torted to make 4 layers. It has 2 layers of Nutella and buttercream filling, one layer of ganache filling, white buttercream icing with ganache on top!!!

Is that decadent or what!!!! It weighs in around 10 pounds!!!

I haven't cut into it yet. I made a lemon the other day and gave it away, but this is chocolate, so I may have to at least taste it before I do away with the rest!!!

I had never used Nutella before. When I mixed it with the buttercream, it turned into something very similar to fudge!!!

To be honest, I put some buttercream in a bowl and added the nutella. It got really thick so I added a little whipping cream to thin it a little. I didn't measure anything. Probably about a cup or so of the buttercream and 3 big tablespoons or so of the nutella. I don't think it is something that you can mess up and it tasted like homemade fudge!!!

Nutella is hazelnut spread, a lot like peanut butter except with hazelnuts.

I make a half butter/half crisco buttercream with whipping cream for my liquid. I didn't take a picture because I was just playing around. I ate some of it today and it was heavenly!! Extremely rich too. I gave the cake to a friend to get it out of my house!!!

Hey, Cindy - that sounds so good. You taunt us with it and then give it away! icon_cry.gif

I've never bought Nutella and have been wondering how it would be. I'm going to have to try that! Thanks

Don't forget about the best part! The chocolate!

I used the Killer Chocolate Cake recipe on this site. I used coffee in place of water in the recipe.

I mixed the Nutella into some buttercream and then thinned it a little with some milk. It had the consistancy of fudge!!

It made 2 9 inch cakes. You could probably use 10 inch pans if you wanted to. I torted the 2 layers to make 4 and filled 2 with the Nutella and one with Ganache. Then, I iced the whole cake with white buttercream and poured the remaining ganache on top.

This cake was absolutely heavenly!!!
