I made a practice cake today, just messing around. It is Killer Chocolate Cake torted to make 4 layers. It has 2 layers of Nutella and buttercream filling, one layer of ganache filling, white buttercream icing with ganache on top!!!
Is that decadent or what!!!! It weighs in around 10 pounds!!!
Cindy
wow,it is heavy! maybe u can send me 2 lbs. of that yummy sounding cake? ![]()
the name is appropriate for that kind of cake!
that sounds really good! with that nutella! yummy!
now, i found another reason to go to the store! to get nutella!
...how much buttercream and nutelle did u use on your recipe?
To be honest, I put some buttercream in a bowl and added the nutella. It got really thick so I added a little whipping cream to thin it a little. I didn't measure anything. Probably about a cup or so of the buttercream and 3 big tablespoons or so of the nutella. I don't think it is something that you can mess up and it tasted like homemade fudge!!!
oic..just like what i did with the buttercream with strawberry jam..thanks for the heads up with the whipping cream... ![]()
Nutella is hazelnut spread, a lot like peanut butter except with hazelnuts.
Cindy.. which buttercream version do you use? That cake sounds sooooo yummy. And... where is the picture? lol
I make a half butter/half crisco buttercream with whipping cream for my liquid. I didn't take a picture because I was just playing around. I ate some of it today and it was heavenly!! Extremely rich too. I gave the cake to a friend to get it out of my house!!!
Cindy
how many layers does the recipe make? did it make 2 and you cut those in two? or does it make 4. two pans or 4? also the nutella..did you add some to butter cream or did you spread some on then the butter cream. hope to hear from anyone soon. a friend wants it for her b day on wednesday. bump back to the top. ![]()
what chocolate cake recipe did you use, would you share it?
Thanks
Diana
I used the Killer Chocolate Cake recipe on this site. I used coffee in place of water in the recipe.
I mixed the Nutella into some buttercream and then thinned it a little with some milk. It had the consistancy of fudge!!
It made 2 9 inch cakes. You could probably use 10 inch pans if you wanted to. I torted the 2 layers to make 4 and filled 2 with the Nutella and one with Ganache. Then, I iced the whole cake with white buttercream and poured the remaining ganache on top.
This cake was absolutely heavenly!!!
