Frosting Cakes Bottom Up??

Do you frost your cakes upsided down? Like botttom up?
would you get sharper edges etc.... opinions please

I do normally turn the layers bottom up. I get less crumbs and smoother edges.

To get better corners, it helps to use plenty of icing

I've had one instuctor say bottoms down; another said bottoms up. I think it looks better and easier to ice with bottoms up. Evidently, it's a personal preference. Just see which appearance you like.

Purely by happenstance, I have begun icing bottoms up and I do find I have fewer crumbs and better lines.

i do bottoms up. I just look for the smoother side, i thought it'd be easier to smooth.

I've always done bottom up. If I have a two layer cake I put one layer bottom down and the other bottom up. That way you have the flatest side to work on. I hope this helps.

I do tops together. So the bottom would be on top
