I have a brother that lives in GA and are looking for a cake decorator/baker around the Buford/Alphretta area. They may be willing to drive farther.
He knows about my new love from cake decorating and asked me about it this pasted weekend. While we were talking he said that him and his wife really wished they could find someone locally to do cakes for them. But he said he didnt really know where to start. I said I DO I DO!!!... so i started here.
Anyone out there interested or knows someone that might be?

Thanks for posting. Isn't that all the luck lol I have to say Buford/Alpharetta is a LOVELY area. I live in arkansas but we vacation in buford during the summer to visit with my brother and family.
Hopefully someone out there in CC land can help me out.

Hi! There are many of us here. We even formed a little local club but our "leader" moved recently to another part of the state. 
Hopefully, we can get going again at some point.
I'm in the metro area, Buford/Alpharetta is about 30-40 mins. away from me depending on where they are. This is more of a friends/family hobby for me too right now. I know there are some ladies in the Stone Mountain, Conyers, Dekalb County and Dunwoody area that may be a bit closer. I'm sure there are many others out there so we'll see if someone a little more convenient for him posts.

I'm in the Smyrna/Vinings part of town.
I'm from GA also...but unfortunately I'm 2.5 hours away down in Ft. Benning/Columbus GA. Sorry, but good luck finding someone!!!
Thanks for your replies. My brother lives in Buford but works in Alpharetta, they just had their sons 4th birthday party at the My Gym. wow i love that place. I wish my kids were small again or yeah and i would help if we lived in ga lol Not sure if we have one here.

They dont have a problem driving. So distance might not be an issue. I mean reasonable distance that is lol

TinaJoy07 -- I have friends in Alpharetta who swear by Cakes By Darcy, which is technically in Roswell, but not too far out of the way.
We just started a yahoo group almost a year ago. A few of us have met up a couple of times to just meet, have lunch and chat. It would be nice to get together with local cakers to share tips, demo, etc. Or if it's just to do lunch/dinner! Everyone's been so busy.
If you go to Yahoo Groups, you should be able to search for Georgia Cake Club.
