How Do You Recommend I Make Brown Icing

I used the americolor choc brown and its too light. What do you recommend?

Cocoa powder. I just added cocoa powder to my white BC until I got the color I used for the trees on the three tiered cake in my photos. It worked perfectly and smelled (and tasted) just like chocolate milk!

The brown cake on my M&M cake was made with brown coloring and cocoa powder.

I agree with everyone here. Add cocoa powder a little at a time until you get the color you are after. You can add a tiny americolor if needed.

I recently had some dark royal blue fondant left over from a project. I also had some orange colored fondant. I added the the two together and voila - I had a rich dark brown color that I used to create a tree. As for the ratios used, I would try mixing a small test amount to see what will get you the shade that you want. HTH

A slight variation on the cocoa powder answer....I like to use the packets of unsweetened premelted chocolate. You can find it in the grocery near the cocoa powder and unsweetened baking chocolate.
