Bride wants square petit fours, each with a gerber daisy and ribbon on the bottom edge. I would probably make a sheet cake, ice the top, put a layer of fondant on the top to make it flat and then cover them in a liquid fondant.
What do you charge for petit-fours?
The flowers would be sugar (fondant)
I have done ribbon on cupcakes and it's a ridiculous way to waste time!
I've never done petit fours before. I thought rather than wrapping the entire piece (1-1/2") in fondant, just placing a top layer of fondant on the slab cake then cutting and then dipping each piece in melted fondant. I've seen this method in Peggy Porshens book.
I was thinking around the $2-$3 range.
