Help needed from all you creative ccer's out there -

Here's the basic idea:

11x15 with whip cream icing.
Strawberries/blueberries a must
9 year old's birthday
mom wants the flag
boy wants fireworks (not really THAT interested actually -- more for mom)

I've done it where the entire cake is the flag with the fruit, but I don't really have any ideas how to get the fireworks on it if I do that, so I thought I might create a red/white/blue border with the berries and cream and then use the middle of the cake for something with the flag/fireworks/happy b-day message.

But, I'm stumped. I'm thinking fbct (which will take away some of the whip cream topping though). I've also considered something in fondant, but my brain is dry.

Any ideas are appreciated!

TIA -- S.

a few twinkies on top of the cake covered in red or blue fondant with wired stars shoot out of them to be fireworks

what ever cake you do put sparklers or big sparkler candels on it and have the mother light it as if it was the fireworks/birthday candle...

Just a warning the firework sparklers leave some ash on the cake but it looks awesome!

Hope it all works out thumbs_up.gif good luck
