I may have finally gotten an opportunity to do my first wedding cake in October for 100 guests.

The bride has mentioned that she may want strawberries to accomany each slice and be part of the overall decorative scheme.

With that in mind, I need to know the following:

What is the likelihood of me finding beautiful, plump, bright red strawberries in North Carolina in October?

Secondly, if they do exist, about how much will they cost and how will I incorporate that in her estimated cake cost? Strawberries can currently be purchased for about $4 per pound.

PLEASE HELP!

Tell the bride that she will have to pay separately for the berries. Call a local grocer and ask if they think they could special order berries in October. As long as the bride know she has to pay to cost.

Living in NC myself, it will be very difficult to find the quality of strawberry you would want for a wedding cake in Oct. The only suggestion I have is something like Sam's Club or Costco. They tend to have decent fruit year round.

I also live in North Carolina, and I don't know if you will be able to get a GOOD TASTING strawberry this time of year, but if your just looking for decoration it should not be too difficult!

Good Luck! usaribbon.gif
