Please forgive me! If you look in my pictures, I just Recently put my last cake. I received a Pm for one great person from the forum, to let me know that my flags where backwards. The Puerto Rico should be in the other side and the USA is backwards, OHHHH MY. icon_cry.gificon_redface.gif

I am so mad at myself. It was a mistake, I didn't see it until I got the PM.

I should know better, being a former military and a military wife for almost 14 years!

I just notice, when I was told! Oh my God, the cake is for my husband promotion picnic, thanks Godness I am not taking it to any function! I finish the cake very late, the kids where helping me,they were the ones to put the flags, I should of doubled checked it.
I have three families that are coming over today to spend the night because of the party and my house in the base is very small, so can you imagine where my mind is, Where I am puting so many people to sleep

I am so sorry, I know for sure it wont happen again, I should know better!

I am very frustaded, because I can not move the flags now, they will break!

So please again forgive me! I hope I did not make no one upset!

There's no reason to be so apologetic. It was a mistake. icon_smile.gif

No problem. Just look at it this way... anyone can look at your cake at any angle and the flags will be fine thumbs_up.gif

You and your husband are military. Thank you so much for what you all do everyday. You both love your country and I'm sure that when a flag goes by you all stand or salute. So, I think you can be forgiven! Lol.

When you say the American Flag is backwards, do you mean placement on your cake or both flags should be swapped? I read the flag ettiquet once but don't remember all of it. Please let us know.

BTW, great cake!!!

Lu

DON"T say a word of this to anyone and they won't notice I can assure. I once wrote "Happy Birthdya" on one of my children's cakes (yes, it was completed at 'oh-dark thirty' the night before the big day) and nobody ever noticed but me. I laugh every time we look at pictures from it because even 6 years later, even though its right there in our album, no one has EVER noticed! Keep quiet and let them eat cake. icon_wink.gif Btw-- congratulate your husband and thank him for his service from me!

We know you didn't mean any disrespect, and it sounds like you are teaching your children to be patriotic as well.

We need more people like you! usaribbon.gif

Thank YOU too for being a supportive, military wife. I've known many spouses in your position and know the hardships you all endure... so, again, thank you!

Be easy on yourself!!!!!!!! You made a great cake with love....cheers to you and your husband for your service to others.

Flags have a front and a back so they naturally could be seen in an opposite direction anyway

No need to apologize--a mistake is a mistake.

I made a Texas flag cake and I swapped the red and white. I put the white on top and the red on the bottom. It was obviously wrong as the cake was in the shape of Texas (only 1 way to look at that). And I am a born and bred Texan.

Thank you and your family for all that you do. Your husband is a hero in my eyes!

Now, if you say the top of the cake is from the flag angle, that puts the sergeant's chevron up side down. The cake is wonderful! And it has 2 fronts! God Bless!

Were you standing on the "back" side of the board near the hat when you placed the flags? No biggie! As already said, everyone can enjoy the cake from many angles.

BTW, what a wonderful display!!!!!! thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif
