Don't feel bad, every mom has had these moments. I'm known by my neighbors for sitting outside my front door (when the kids are crying at it) trying to get a grip on myself before I lose it.

Twins is a rough job and those lil' boys keep you busy! You deserve a pat on the back just for being a good mom and feeling guilty when you shouldn't.

As a mother of twins who turn 3 in December, an aunt of twins who also turn 3 in December as a cousin of twins who are 5 years younger then me trust me when I say "I feel your pain and I am soooo sorry!!!"

Now that you know my credentials, let me say that you have absolutely nothing to feel bad or guilty about. All moms have days where they want to sell their children on ebay. Even those who only have one icon_wink.gif I believe that in all honesty you did the very best thing you could by walking away from the situation. Sometimes that's all you can do for the sake of everyone involved.

You know the boys are safe in their room, go take a breath, collect your thoughts then go look in on your children after they've fallen asleep and remember how much you love them icon_biggrin.gif

To the extent he even takes them off in the grocery store!!! Oh, come on look at those faces! I don't believe a word you're sayin! lol

Just kidding, being a parent is tough. My first 2 kids started with the terrible twos around 3 years old. My pediatrician always told me the terrible twos start around 18 months and last until about 4! icon_cry.gif

BTW, about the grocery store.... think of all the people who might of been having a bad day and your son changed that. I bet they're still talking about it! icon_lol.gif

Good luck, Sherri

I would laugh so hard if I saw your naked one in the store! I wish I could see something so cute and funny as I HATE THE GROCERY STORE!!!
Don't feel bad, just today I told my boys that I was dropping them off at the kennel indefinately and I'm going on a one way cruise. My husband asked if he was included and I said, "do you have testicles?" It's a male only kennel. My kids are 3 and almost 13. Both boys and I cannot get them in the bed till about 2 a.m. They take no naps, and I'm so mad that I take tylenol pm to get calmed down. My hubbys on night shift so I'm left alone with these animals and somehow when I wake up in the morning, those little turds are in the bed with me! I can't even go to the bathroom by myself, one can pick the lock and the little one lays on the floor peeking under the door. No getting away from them for me! icon_cry.gificon_mad.gificon_cry.gificon_evil.gificon_cry.gif

My sis had twins first, then a single. She told me that she is glad to have had the twins first b/c if she knew how much work ONE baby was, she would never stopped crying about two.

Funny story... her kids are soooo smart... When they were 3 (now they are 17) they wanted candy off the top of the fridge, but knew they would get in trouble if they got it, so they talked their 2 yr old bro into climbing the shelves of the freezer then the fridge to get it. Um, still in trouble boys!

They also drew with marker on their brothers face, a moustache, evil eye brows, etc. Thought it was washable, turned out to be permanent. ooppss...

LAST ONE...they had peeing contests off of their bunk beds into their SHOES, when they were 3.

I thought it was funny, sis wanted to sell them into slavery.

Good luck!!

I had three kids in 36 months. When they were little, I used to get so frustrated putting them to bed ... all the fooling around, constantly going upstairs to yell at them! My friend said to me, "Linda, they're obviously not tired! Don't make them go to bed!" I thought about it and it made a little sense to me. So, maybe if you forget the naps, they will get tired earlier in the evening.

Also, how many of your kids are in the same bedroom with the twins?

When you're a kid, bed seems like a punishment ... when you're older, it seems like a REWARD!

OMG Twinsline! I wasn't aware that you had MORE kids! The twins are hard enough never mind the other three. I am seriously wondering how you haven't been committed yet icon_wink.gificon_wink.gif

In my family all the sets of twins have been boy/girl mixed (including the set born in March to my cousin) and believe it or not, the girls have always been more trouble. My biggest fear was having two girls. Running around, bouncing off the walls, andtotal and utter destruction I can handle. My daughter had the teenage "You are the dumbest person I know" look down at birth and has only improved with age. My sister's daughter will never be allowed in the front yard because she has no fear and will go with anyone who asks her. Don't get me started on the whinning...

I keep reminding myself on bad days that it could be worse...there could be three of them icon_eek.gif

Hope you're having a better day! Remember, duct tape works wonders!

I haven't read everyone elses responses yet so maybe I'm saying the same thing, but as a mother of 3 young children I can totally relate! Mine are not twins but they might as well be triplets, as close in age as they all are, lol. Now they are 6, 5 & 3 and things are pretty good (except for the constant bickering icon_mad.gif ) but during the days when I had a new baby, 3 & 2 year old it was not fun!!
Don't feel bad, sometimes you just have to let them cry. I too have sat outside on my porch to get away from the crying because I was just so darn frustrated and they would NOT go to sleep and I had to get away and calm down so I didn't lose it. Sometimes I would end up being the one in tears 'cause I was at my wits end and didn't know what else to do, lol.
Take care & good luck!

From about age 11 on girls ARE more trouble ... and more expensive. So, there's hope for a calmer future with the boys.

Oh twinsline7,don't feel bad that you get so frustrated icon_wink.gif Being a mom is the hardest job in the world never mind a mom to twins. We all loose it at some point and it is normal, we are only human for goodness sakes icon_razz.gif I have twin 7 year old nephews and they are on rocket fuel 24/7, oh I feel for you. I have a boy and a girl, the boy is GO GO GO all day long but the girl is much harder to deal with emotionally! He was too ....refused to nap and had a busy afternoon so Im sure most of it was exhaustion on his part too....we're talking ear piercing screaming ...relentless at that...literally throwing himself up against the bedroom door...then moved to the wall...and laid kicking the bedroom door! ....I couldnt do anything but sit outside his door on the floor crying myself!

thanks again you guys! youve been a load of help...at least reminding me why I should laugh at these two thumbs_up.gif

My brothers are twins, and I can remember the little hellions they used to be. They couldn't even have cribs or beds, just mattresses on the floor, because they would take them apart whenever they were alone in their room. They'll get better eventually.

Also, my DD is always more poorly behaved when she's from her half ages to her whole ones. So, I was having problems with her at 1 1/2 - I felt so sorry for myself when she started the terrible 2's 6 whole months early. Then, when 2 actually came, she was great. Hooray for me, 2 isn't bad! Then came 2 1/2, and it was hell again. She's almost 8 now, and it's still the same cycle. 'm looking forward to September, because then I should have my nice girl back for another 6 months. I'm dreading the time when she stays nasty for all of those pre-teen and teen years icon_wink.gif

Oh, yeah, they were horrible! My mom made their bedroom door into a Dutch Door, so she could keep track of them, but they couldn't get out. That worked beautifully until they figured out how to dismantle the window....
