Hi,

I'm, doing my first full sheet for my inlaws 42 anniversery. I have made lots of half sheets using the 12x18 and I'm assuming that I would just put two half sheet together to make a full sheet. Please, any helpfull tips will be greatly appriciated.

You need a big board-very strong so it won't bend. And it will be heavy. Otherwise, you won't have any trouble doing two 1/2 sheets and putting them together. You could even used two flavors of cake/filling.

yep, a double ply board is a must! I love doing full sheet cakes, what a huge canvas to work on (fun, fun, fun) you can even get crazy and do 4 different flavors expecially for family and friends. what a better way to showcase all your great flavors! (4-1/4 cakes)

I have a commercial oven so I can bake a full sheet without having to piece it together, I would make sure that when putting 2 halves together that you use a little icing all the way down the seam and then push them together. I find that this helps from the cake looking like it has a crack. It also will help if you freeze the cakes slightly, they are easier to handle.
