I am getting ready to start preparing for my Clifford cake at the end of the month. I need to opinions on the color for red. Since the whole cake is going to be Clifford and I will be doing it in buttercream not fondant I will have a lot of red buttercream. What color of red should I use to get the best color? I have never used Americolor and thought I would try that over Wilton. I have never had great success with Wilton red. I also hear alot of people complain about the taste of red colored buttercream.

Also, this might sound dumb, but what color of red is Clifford the Big Red Dog? Is he bright red or more of a brown red?

I would use americolor in the Red Red. I know one of the americolor reds gets dark I think it's the Super Red. But Clifford in my opinion would be Red Red.
