It is perfectly normal to have the butterflies. With each time we attempt to do something for the first time it is the fear of the unknown that gets us a bundle of nerves. But as we go through and do that thing again and again it becomes easier because we know what to expect.Try channeling your nerves into something positive. Take nice deep breathes. Know that you have as good a chance as anyone. Good Luck, and let us know how you did.

tell them it's not a waste of time! it's what you enjoy doing and you might actually win. there are tons of categories and special prizes, and if you sell cakes, saying you're a winner will help with customers, and also one of our very own CC members was just on food network because she placed at the Oklahoma Sugar show. not silly!

Go for it! Family members tend to be the worst cynics and critics. I'm 48 years old and I'm just now signing a lease and getting this business into a "real" business with a "real" storefront. Most family members think it's too late and too much of a risk. Thank god I never listen to THOSE people! I listen to people like.......

"People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it." ---George Bernard Shaw

"A winner is someone who takes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals." ----Larry Bird, Pro Basketball player/coach/team owner.

"All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dream with open eyes to make it possible." --- T. E. Lawrence
