I have been looking into making some and have had no luck on the internet on finding anything on making any type of stands for cakes. So, that leads me to the question, does anyone make their own cake stands? Or, what do you use for cake stands?

Just curious.....

Sorry about the poor english....

Hi,
My husband make me a couple of cake stands out of plywood. He cut the boards to the size I wanted, then made a platform about 2 inches high that is nailed to the base board for them to stand on. I covered them in white contact paper. Then I used fancy foil on top of that to actually sit the cake on. Only problem with plywood stands is that they are very heavy.

Next time I think we'll try some masonite boards and try to make a platform for them to stand on. I like a little height on cake stands for looks and because it's easier to pick up and set down the cake.

Hope that helps.
