Sifting And Quick Drying Gumpaste Questions

Do any of you sift your flour, cake mix and powdered sugar in advance? Does it need to be resifted when ready to use say from 1 day up to a week later?
I've searched and searched for estimated drying times for gumpaste ( for those of us who might not be able to do them in advance) So far, I haven't come across any specific answers. A lot are saying it depends on how thick you roll it. So let me be specific and maybe I'll get a specific answer. I'm making a flat graduation cap, a flat rolled diploma (with alphabet cutouts on top) and stars all 1/8 or 1/4 thick. They will be attached to wire. I won't be able to start making them until late tomorrow afternoon or early evening (Wed.) and they need to be ready for a cake to be picked up sometime early morning or early afternoon Sat. Will they be dry and hard enough in time? What would you say are the drying times for gumpaste, fondant/gumpaste, fondant and fondant mixed with fixodent, gumtex or I forgot the name of the others you could use; if they were all 1/8 and 1/4 thick?
gumpaste dries the quickest. A single depth 1/8 or thinner with air circulation should dry completely in a couple of days. using a fan can help
You can't really pre-sift more than a couple of hours, and if you live in a humid climate, eve that would be a risk. the particles will settle. Although for some recipes a good whisking is sufficient.
Thanks JoannB! So your saying that if I start this this afternoon or evening (it's Wed morning now) the will definitely be completely dry by Sat.
Will I be able to roll out and get a smooth finish on the accent piece with gumpaste alone( I've only used gumpaste once and very little of it and it started cracking); if I do 50/50 will I have enough time to dry them using a fan. I've heard about the oven tip but I don't have a light in my oven what to do in that situation? People I really expected some more feedback and I really need to know this ASAP!
My advice is to keep flipping your pieces over. When I want my gumpaste to dry fastest I let it dry for like 3 or 4 hours then I flip it over on to the other side if possible or put it on some sort of lift so that the air can get to all sides... Once I let a piece sit for a whole day and when I picked it up the bottom side was still wet... so now I flip frequently to increase drying time. Good luck!!
