Okay, I'm posting this guy everywhere. Props to Cinda's Creative Cakes for her "Mad Scientist" cake and ennove11 for giving me the website. Thanks also to lasidus1 for all the help, and my engineer husband for the book info. I feel like I've won an award!!!
After the last few cakes, I had really lost my confidence, and I have three weddings to do at the end of the month. So when this fellow turned out so cute, it really helped give my that boost I needed. This was also the first time I worked with MMF. (It was the top sheet of the book.)
Very cute. You should be proud. Great job you did.
Did you use the bear pan by any chance? If so what a great use of the pan.
Joanne
That is wonderful! I have had that pan for years but have never used it. Now I may have to. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks everyone...yes, it was made with the Cuddly Bear Pan. I just chopped off his ears and made the nose. The ideas for this pan are endless.
My computer kicked me off earlier when I tried to post a comment on this awesome cake. You should be proud. I totally understand how some cakes throw you for a loop, and, then there is that one that pumps you back up. I have a motto in my kitchen, first things first. I tend to get rushed sometimes and think I can cut corners, so, I need this reminder. As long as I follow this rule, things usually go smoothly. I haven't tried the 3D cakes. This site really gives me encouragement to try new things.
Wow that is fantastic - you should be really proud!!
Great job!!
He's so cute I wish I could do that. How did you make him?
I had to try twice on the bear pan cake. I ended up using one yellow cake mix and one pound cake mix put together. It turned out the perfect texture for 3d cakes. My homemade yellow cake was just too tender to hold up. His ears were cut off to make his nose, and the rest was a lot of outlining and stars. BC consistancy is key for these stars isn't it? These just did great, and I took my time placing the bags in the fridge everytime I had to get Kool-aid, cook dinner, bath kids, etc.
I almost hated to see im go, but I don't know if I could have cut this one. (I'm usually the one saying, "Its just cake, cut it!")
Great job! I think everyone needs a boost of confidence once in a while (if not for cakes, then something else). I'm glad you got yours! Makes it so much more enjoyable and less stressfull.
BRAVO!! what a great job on a tough task! I really appriciate the eye it takes to see what you want to make in something else and transform it with the help of one unlimited imagination! next challenge please??!!
