I always really like the butterflies made out of RI, they look very cheerful, elegant and birthday-like 
And than just color the cupcakes with different colors and put one butterfly on top.
Another one that is always really nice (well ofcourse my opinion ) is a big daisy on top of it, like in Peggy Porschens book, a white one on different colors of cupcakes look really great
