I know there has been a lot of these lately. I hope all of your creative juices aren't all dried up because I need to use them briefly. 
Originally my business name was/is Inspired Beginnings. However, that was the name I came up with when this was going to be a Wedding Consultant business. I haven't been fond of the name for cakes and confections and now my husband tells me he's not fond of it either.
So I need help. All we've come up with is More Than Just Cake. I would like other ideas though. The reason we like that it shows that I do more than just cakes and that the cake with be more than just another cake.
My full name is Julie Kaye Contreras. I want my bakery or business to have a home-style feel. Nothing too high class but not too country either. Eek...see why I'm having a problem. I over think it too much. Oh I would also like something that demonstrates they would be creative (not typical).
Also I can't be Julie's Cake or Cakes by Julie. There is a bakery here in Houston by one of those names and it would be too confusing.
ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Also, I was just looking on the internet and there is a place here in Houston called More than Cakes...so I don't know if I should or could use More Than Just Cake...if I wanted to.

For some reason the only thing coming to mind is "Cake and Then Some". I know it's not great, but that's what keeps popping into my empty brain.
How about:
"Julies Inspired Creations"
as that way if you have been using the other business name you said above its not altered too much but people will know who you are and it also leaves it open to other things not just cakes. good luck and let us know what you end up with...

I will think about it some more - when I was coming up with my name I had a list of almost 30 that I had my family help me to narrow we settled on A Sweet Celebration

"Julies Inspired Creations"
as that way if you have been using the other business name you said above its not altered too much but people will know who you are and it also leaves it open to other things not just cakes. good luck and let us know what you end up with...

You may or may not like them, we'll keep thinking: Contreras' Creations, or Creations By Contreras, or Julie's Cake Jewels, or Cake Jewels by Julie. or Contreras' Creative Confections, or Contreras' Crafty Cakes & More, or J. Kaye's Cakes and Sweets, or Contrerars' Cakes and Confections. let us know what you decide.
In keeping with the other suggestion of Julie's Inspired Creations, you might change it around and make it; Inspired Creations by Julie. This way it is located in the same vacinity in the phone book for those who might have remembered your first name 'Inspired'. Just a twist on a good idea above that you seemed to like.
Also, I agree with staying away from More than Just Cakes, as I have been to More than Cakes and they are very similar to what you are saying you will be. That would be very confusing to customers. You both might have appointments missed thinking they are making it with the other!!!

No, not really. Some of my family call me Julie Kaye... but I'm not stuck on needing to use my name. I'm pretty sure we came up with the new name...we just have to see what website we can find for it first!
