Hi, I was just wondering if anyone who uses Duff's buttercream has ever had luck flavoring it. I am getting ready to do 2 tastings and I want to try some different flavors of Duff's BC.

I would also really love to hear any of your favorite flavor combos. I am not very good at comming up ideas, so if you wouldn't mind sharing recipe links for your most popular flavors, it would be wonderful!

Thanks!

Breanna

I exclusively use meringue based buttercreams and I use cordials to flavor. My favorites are creme de cacao or hazelnut. Something about the alcohol cuts the greasy mouthfeel. I can tell the difference when I use a regular flavoring like vanilla or almond than when I use liquor.

My favorite meringue based icing flavor that I have tried is the one I did using peach schnapps.

I agree that liqueurs are great for flavoring buttercream, but it seems to me that vanilla contains about as much alcohol as most liqueurs.

...goes to check...

Amaretto: 28%
Vanilla: 35%
Grand Marnier: 40%
