I got the news about 5 minutes ago that a family in our church has lost their oldest daughter, Becky. Becky was so sweet. Always had a smile. This past Sunday she helped my daughter who had just joined our church choir. She was engaged and was planning on moving to Okalahoma to be closer to her fiancee next month. This family has been through so much in the last 5 years. They lost their oldest son (he was shot and killed), both sets of parents and numerous other family members in the last 5 years. This family is such a wonderful, loving and faithful Christian family. Please lift them up today. Their last name is Rigg.

Prayer done!! I can't imagine losing a child. I lost my brother 10 years ago, and I was crushed, so can't imagine losing one of my three dear children.

((((((((big hugs to them))))))))

Dear Lord,

We come to you again as friends and family to ask that you bless the Rigg Family and help them to get through the loss they have suffered. We know you do things for a reason and so we know that all this family has gone through is to make them stronger and bring them closer to each other. we pray that you help ease their pain and help them to move on with their lives and to treasure the ones they still have here with them. Lord, we ask this in Jesus' name.

Amen

Please let them know they are in our thoughts and prayers.

It always leaves a large whole in out hearts when any loved one is taken, but seems especially difficult when the person has such a bright happy future in front of them. Please tell the family we are thinking of them and I will add them to my prayer list.

Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers. I have some more information.

Becky was driving home from Wal-Mart on Tuesday evening and was crossing a major intesection. They think that she might have had a seizure and/or possibly ran a red light. A electrical service truck ran into her. She was never conscious and passed away while she was in surgery. The family is not handling it well - not that we expect otherwise. They have opened up a Memorial Fund. Becky went on a missionary trip one summer as an intern to Zambia, Africa so they have opened up the "Rebecca Rigg Memorial Zambia, Africa Fund". We are all so touched by this. This is what Becky would have wanted. I have personally know Becky since she was 10/11 years old and have been very good friends with her and her family. We spent many fun moments together - I would pick her up from work when her family had conflicting schedules. I enjoyed talking with her so much. She was so insightful for being so young. If I could think of any way to describe her it would be faithful to her belief in Christ. My mom called her a butterfly - flying from one object to another and kind of lightly landing with her gentle touch.

Again, thank you. Please remember us tomorrow evening as we attend the viewing and Saturday morning as we prepare breakfast for the family and attend the funeral.

I will add them to my prayers.

I lost a sister before I was born and I lost my brother 3 yrs ago. That's an awful pain to lose someone so close to you.

So sorry to hear about the loss. I will pray for you and the family. I myself lost my sister 7 years ago. Many others since then. I know the heartache all too well. Rest assured knowing there are people out here praying for comfort and understanding not only now, but for the difficult times they face ahead. God Bless you for sharing this with us.

Thank you everyone for your prayers. Today would have been Becky's 21st b-day.

We went to the viewing on Friday. It was held in the chapel on our church campus. There was a line out the door. It took us an hour and 15 minutes to get through. The funeral was beautiful. There were no seats available (our auditorium holds 500-600 people). Our pastor sang a beautiful song, there was a video put together by her father who also spoke and made us laugh through our tears and most importantly at least 7 people came to know Jesus as their Savior. Becky is continuing to touch people even though she is no longer with us.
