I am covering a cake in red fondant. I make mmf fondant. Can I put the coloring in while making the fondant or do I have to wait until it is done and rested? Would sure be easier if I could add color while making it!!!

Add it while making it!!! The only time this doesn't work is if you want several colors from the same batch. It's a pain to do it after it's mixed!!!

Add the gel color to your melted marshmallows. I have the hardest time getting red and black, so I buy it when I can. For the water in the marshmallows, try using dyed water or cherry juice to help the red color.

I also read on someone's picture where they used the strawberry marshmallows. Would that help to not have to use so much red when coloring this stuff?
Also I did black from Rhondas MMF chocolate recipe, it worked great.

Good Luck McDonald! Be sure to let us see a picture of the final masterpiece!

I love mmf - use it all the time! However, I buy red and black Satin Ice! It is well work the price - both in supplies and labor! Also in hand soap getting the red and black gel color off my hands!!! icon_lol.gif
