Ok, i know similar questions have been asked and usually I use my best judgement but this time I can't figure out what to do. Ok I have two cakes due for Sunday for a baptism, both marble, not filled, and I usually ice with buttercream dream. Here is the issue, my DH decided he wanted to go camping for fathers day. I can get the lady to pick up her cakes on Friday but does she need to refridgerate? There are about 5 TBSP of milk in buttercream dream and I usually do put in the fridge but I am not sure how much fridge space she has.
If it does, can anyone tell me a good icing recipe that doesn't need to be refridgerated?!?
Thanks

OH I also always use the extender recipe and put yogurt in the cake!

I usually will have two cakes due on the same day so I will refrigerate them just to be on the safe side. They are always fine. I like cold cake anyways!!

BC dream does not need to be refrigerated. The sugar acts as a preservative for the milk and butter.

Also, once your ingredients are baked into the cake, you don't need to worry about refrigerating the cake. The baking process changes them. For instance, your eggs, milk, yogurt, etc that go into the cake batter come out in the finished cake shelf stable.

For freshness's sake, she may want to refrigerate, since they will have to sit for a bit, but the cake will not spoil if left out.

I would keep the cake out. Refrigerating, if you don't NEED to, can really dry out a cake. Just my opinion..

Thanks everyone! I know if it is for myself I don't refridgerate but I just worry alittle more if it is for someone else!
Thanks again, it is SO nice to have people willing to answer even my silly questoins!
