I am making a wedding cake that has ribbon roses and draped fondant around them. I am just wondering if I can use the rolled buttercream recipe (mixed mith gumpaste and/or wilton fondant to make it stronger) or would the marshmallow fondant work. I have never made that recipe so I don't know how strong it would be. Any info is greatly appreciated, thanks !!

I think the rolled buttercream may be a bit too fragile, but MMF works fine. It would be a good idea to use 50/50 fondant/gumpaste for the drapes. It gives you more time for arranging, but still dries firm.

mmf will work great by itself to make drapes and ribbon roses, or you can mix in a little trylose (but it's not necessary).

I took a fondant drapes and swags class last month and used mmf...turned out pretty good. I need to practice my technique - but the mmf worked great. The pic is in my folder.

Good luck.
