I am going to order already made gumpaste carnations from decopac to put on a wedding cake. They are white and I need them to be light orange and yellow. How do I get them that color.

Thanks
Tonya

Well, I have read on here to use petal dusts. Dust them on and then steam the color to set the color on. ShirleyW is great at explaining this. Lemme see if I can find a post on it. Jen

Here is a couple discussion where ShirleyW mentions how she does her flowers=) She does amazing flowers! Or are you asking what colors to use to get that? If so, hopefully someone else can help=) Jen

Airbrushing definitely works.

dusting is ever so easy - I use grated pastel chalks that I get from Michaels. Then i steam them over the tea kettle for a few minutes. I have flowers in my photos that all were done that way, even deep colors like red (though I make my own flowers, but the concept is the same for coloroing purchased ones).

Are they still considered edible if you use pastel chalks? What kind of chalk do you use?
