I know this isn't exactly a decorating question, but I figured this was as good a place as any!
How do I keep my brown sugar soft without drying out and getting hard? I've heard about bread, apples and those brown sugar "stones" but I wanna know the best way possible.
I use the brown sugar stone and keep it in a ziploc baggie. It works great. You do have to soak the stone in water every now and then, but my brown sugar never hardens up. I got it at Sur La Table.
I just put mine in a plastic air tight container and put it in the fridge, got that from Baking 911 and it works great for me.
I keep mine in a tupperware container, and it stays fresh. If I haven't used it for months, it may get a little dry, in which case I put a piece of bread in the container over night, and it goes right back to super soft texture. It works like magic!

DEFINATLY PUT IN A PIECE OF BREAD!!
I put mine in an air tight container or zip loc bag with a piece of bread and it works well!
I keep mine in an airtight container, and if it gets hard, you just pop in the microwave and heat it up, and it goes back to being super soft in an instant (i put it in 30 sec at a time on high, till it gets soft).
I keep mine in the bag it comes in, put that bag in a zipper storage bag and mine never goes hard.
To soften it again just add half a lemon and the sugar will absorb the moisture
inside a plastic bag.
I keep it in the plastic bag it comes in and put the whole bag in Tupperware. If ever you have brown sugar that got hard, add a piece of bread with it. It softens up ... but it might take awhile. Bread has always worked for me. My mother's trick (and she is 85 years old.)
I put it in a covered plastic bowl and keep it in the refrigerator. If it becomes hard, you can add a piece of apple or fresh bread. It will soften right up.
