Has anyone baked gummy worms in their cake batter? I am going to do a Fear Factor birthday cake, and would like to bake the gummy worms into the batter. When they cut the cake, they'll get some "gross worms"... Will the candy remain it's integrity baked this way?? I don't want they to turn to liquid from the heat....

I'm thinking that the worms would melt. Why not put a worm on a piece of foil on a cookie sheet and put it in the oven to see what happens?
Maybe you can think of a way to put them in the cake after it is baked, but then agian most people do not cut a cake with a sharp knife so it may cause problems when cutting the cake later. ![]()
I dont think they will hold up.. I know when you leave them in a car in the TX heat they melt (thanks to DH I know this one - still trying to get them out of the seat
)
