I have a cake that I need to finish tonight and need some suggestions as to what to do for the border. Do I add a border on the top and bottom edges or just the top? What color (s) do you think I should do it in?? Also, should I try and fit happy birthday and/or his name anywhere on this cake or just leave well enough alone??? Please any suggestions would be so appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!

The picture looks great! I don't see where you would need to add anything.

That is so cute. What I would do is a blue border on the top and maybe a yellow or red on the bottom. You might be able to fit his name in the bottom if you write small enough. Great work!

Ok, that makes more sense. What about putting the same type of border around the bottom as you have around the picture? Is the 'smoke' raised and lumpy? Maybe you could put the name on the smoke. I don't think you need another border around the top. icon_smile.gif

I just love your cake! What about putting a wide, flat border (like with a flat tip) around the pic to kind of frame it...in the same color blue as Thomas. Then a sun yellow shell border outside of that. Tip 21 makes a nice full one. Then do that same border around the bottom of the cake. You could use a smaller star tip if you think it would look better. Maybe an 18.
