ok next week im making my sons cake i am going to use the cake mix extender for the first time. I plan on using yogurt and want to use vanilla. Is this ok or does it need to be plain yogurt. Also for my simple syrup i want to add some vanilla to it. i am using a white mix but want to have a vanilla flavor.

I have added vanilla to cake mixes to give it extra flavor. Try adding a mexican vanilla...it has a stronger and better flavor!

The best kind I have ever used is Danncy. I think it has the strongest flavor. icon_razz.gif

I have not tried the cake mix extender in particular but I do have a cake recipe that calls for plain yogurt and I use vanilla yogurt. I do not think it changes the taste that much. It seems to work fine.
