Okay....I finally got an order for my first wedding cake. It's for Sept. 16 and they want it all white to feed 100 people-adding the top tier for them-and the theme is calla lilies. I'm so excited. Not only that but the maid of honor (she's buying the cake as her gift to the bride) told my husband (he got me the order.....love him so much) that if it's around $400 that she would pay it all now but if it was over $500 she would give him two payments. Holy Cow!!!! I've always priced my cakes depending on what I put into them and not by serving but for a wedding I feel like it's a little different. My husband thinks I should charge her $450 but thats about $4 a serving including the top tier. Does that sound like a lot to you? The bakeries in our area turned her down because it has fondant/gumpaste accents. Noone in our area charges that much but they all only use BC. Just any feed back would be great. The cake is really simple......4 all white BC tiers with fondant calla lilies all over it. Thanks so much for listening.

and you're making the calla lillies by hand from scratch, right?

if yes --> $4/serving is just fine, so $450 it is.
