Another Pricing Question.. Petit Fours

What do you think id a fair price for 2x2 petit fours? I was thinking $2.00 to start? I am clueless. They seem like a lot of work.
Thanks! I was thinking of having a 2 dozen minimum order. 3 1/2 inch layers of cake with 2 1/4 inch layers of filling covered in poured fondant or ganache with one RI drop flower on top for $2.00 each.. more detail means more money. Do you think that's fair? Or should it be more? they do seem like tond of work.. I was looking around on the net and one person was charging 25-45$ each for individual cheesecakes. Now I know I can't charge THAT much.. LOL.. but 2$ and up for bite-sized cakes should be good.. no?
Oh you girls are talking about regular petit fours. I bought Kathy Scott's Petit Four molds and they are awesome. I know they are expensive but they are so worth every penny. I think they are much easier and a whole lot nicer then regular petit fours. I haven't downloaded my picture yet of the ones I made for a bridal shower last weekend. But I will post it tonight when I get home. They are beautiful.
Sunflowerfreak - what are the petit four molds you were talking about? Do you have a website for them? I've never heard of them and if it makes the process any easier for them I think that an initial cost for the mold could easily be off-set by higher quantities sold!!!

Now with the molds... is there cake in there?? They look very nice.. like little chocolates.
This comes with each kit:
"The petit fours are made with molds similar to chocolate molds. A thin shell is made with chocolate which is made more biteable by adding paramount crystals. Then icing and cake are placed inside the shell and covered with chocolate. Put in the freezer and you have a perfect petit four. You can decorate as you would like but we also include some silicone molds for fancy toppers."
I like them because they make petit fours look really finished and refined. Less messy too with not having to deal with pouring petit four icing over a wire rack.

Ok it's probably cause it's Friday night after a long week lol but I'm not picturing the size of those. You said 2 inch by 2 inch up in the first post and I cant picture the 3 1/2 inch or 2 1/4 inch part lol. Sorry-brainless moment lol I'm sure everyone else made sense of it. If someone could please explain
ty
LOL.. it's okay.. 3 layers of cake 1/2 an inch tall equals 1.5 inches and 2 layers of filling measuring roughly 1/4 tall would be another .5 inches to equal a total of 2 inches all together.
The molds sound cool.. I just might have to grab some.
