Mymother in law wants a cake like a donut. I made a 10" and we are going to cut out the center. I want a chocolate icing that I can put on the top like an iced donut. Any suggestions?

I would suggest poured chocolate ganache, that would look like icing for sure! thumbs_up.gif

I think ganache is a great idea. I can't wait to see a pic.

What about making icing like you would put on cinnamon rolls? Just powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. But in your case since you want chocolate, then add cocoa. I think that would look like donut icing.

I think the Sarah Bernhardt's glaze would be perfect and delicious!
